Talgo, the manufacturer of Spain’s Renfe AVE High Speed Trains, faced the challenge of designing and implementing a robust system that could ensure the safety and reliability of their high-speed fleet. The goal was to integrate advanced safety functions to monitor and control the train subsystems, provide early warnings of potential failures, and ensure that the trains maintained high availability during operation. Talgo needed a solution capable of monitoring critical systems such as bogie and wheelset stability, bearing temperatures, pneumatic brakes, doors, and suspension. Additionally, an audio/video recording system was required to support safety and incident analysis. EKE-Electronic’s Train Control and Management System (TCMS) was selected to meet these requirements, offering redundancy and reliability while enabling Talgo to deliver a high-performing and safe train solution for Renfe.
