Solution Projects

Custom hardware and software development to address specific solutions and applications to solve a particular problem or challenge, meeting requirements specified by the market or the customers.

Project teams

EKE is uniquely positioned to assemble project teams tailored to meet the specific requirements of each customer. Our highly skilled team, based at our headquarters in Espoo, Finland, consists of approximately 100 dedicated professionals with experience in delivering TCMS solutions to over 150 train fleets and to a wide variety of train builders around the world. This wealth of knowledge and expertise ensures exceptional support for every project.

Our project teams range in size from 2 to 20 members, depending on the project’s complexity, scope, and phase. This flexibility allows us to efficiently and effectively deliver solutions for both new fleets and retrofitting existing ones.

Project management methodologies

At EKE, projects are managed using a structured solution delivery process that combines the strengths of both Waterfall (PMP) and Scrum methodologies. Waterfall is employed for planning major milestones and aligning with the customer’s schedule, ensuring clear oversight of project timelines. Scrum is utilised during software design to collaboratively define and develop functionalities with the customer, with final requirement definitions for Verification and Validation of the desired functionality. This hybrid approach has been successfully applied to both safety-critical and basic integrity projects and is fully compliant EN 50126–50129. The project management process is ISO 9001 and IRIS certified.
