They needed a comprehensive system that could provide real-time remote diagnostics and enable efficient condition monitoring of their on-track equipment.

EKE-Electronics not only designed and installed the on-train monitoring system but also developed the user interface, ensuring seamless interaction for end users. With ongoing SaaS support, Queensland Rail continues to benefit from enhanced operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Solution

EKE-Electronics introduced SmartVision™, an advanced on-train monitoring system coupled with a user-friendly interface. The SmartVision™ solution allowed Queensland Rail to remotely review the status of the trains, view their Captain’s displays and inspect analogue signals collected in their trains. Additionally, the system facilitated the live uploading of analogue and digital signal data through the Captain’s Display and Webtip, providing crucial insights for maintenance planning and reliability assessment.

SmartVision™ has been in operation since 2020.

Ongoing Partnership

Queensland Rail have chosen to extend their SmartVision™ SaaS contract with EKE-Electronics for an additional 2 years, starting from August 2023.

SmartVision™ has given the maintenance team the ability to condition monitor equipment operating on-track through live uploading of analogue and digital signal data. The analysis tab provides the fundamentals required for maintenance planning by determining reliability concerns so that we can continue to provide a worldclass service for passengers.
